Cosmic Ray bug thread
« on: September 16, 2014, 04:17:56 am »

- character run speed is jerky, starts normal and after a time it actually increases, enough so that the acceleration is visible. Next second, back to default run speed again. In case this helps, this happens often and in set intervals, it's not a one off type of thing

edit: this never happened in Rising Sun, it's Cosmic Ray specific

edit 2: seems all it wanted was the regular restart. All fine ever since :)

Sending mail, with or without item or money attached, results in an "internal database error". Currently possible to circumvent it if recipient is -already- in your friends list. Otherwise, no go

- ore nodes spawn wrongly:
a) way too many all clustered up pretty much next to one another in many places, you see groups of four and five; most you'd ever have had the fortune to come across in retail would have been two, one of which with always less ore than usual
b) tier differentiation is skewed or off..for example, there is an ooze-covered gold node in durotar, at 50,47. There is a tin one right where the entrance to valley of trials is; and so on

- unlocking the second tier of the mining skill (75+) should have two requirements,
1) a skill equal to or above 50
2) character level equal to or above 10
As it is now, mining skill alone allows you to train T2, no level requirements present

just to note that i do not know if this is server specific or not, but in Rising Sun all my profs (tailor, ench, cook, fish, first aid) had the correct requirements listed in the relevant trainers

- the Journal entry for the quest 'convince my ex to give me another chance' is incorrectly listed as completed

- Rogue trainer Rwag (Durotar, 41.68) has his 'greetings' text in the wrong language. Should have been in Orcish.

- this might be related to the ore nodes spawn issue, but just in case it's not..blood shards ( http://www.wowhead.com/item=5075#see-also )
are only supposed to be mined from nodes found within the southern and northern barrens. They are currently harvestable in other areas as well

- NPC Sovik (Orgrimmar, 76.25) should have a limited (x1) recipe of Red Fireworks ( http://www.wowhead.com/item=18647 ) to sell. He does not.

- there is a certain range at which NPCs grow "wary" of a stealthed character. Remaining within it keeps you stealthed, proceeding further on the same axis you had been moving on makes you revealed to them. It is lacking here entirely. You go from stealthed to revealed, no inbetween phase. During said phase, there should have been both an animation (NPCs look left and right) and a visual indicator (a particle fx above their heads) indicating that this is happening. That is your warning.

- Rogue skill Ambush wrongly indicates in its tooltip that it "requires a dagger in the main hand". It should read "requires daggers in both hands". And obviously, remain greyed out in your skill bar unless you are dual equipped with daggers. Am too low to buy the skill, see if it's wrong both in action and tooltip, but am sure you can check that out

- it seems this affects all classes; under skills in Craracter ('C') tab, only two of the three Class Skills are listed. Had this on my warlock, same on a rogue, got Assassination and Combat correctly listed, the third, Subtlety, is missing

- under weapon skills, again within the Skills sub-category, Fist Weapons are not listed at all, even though i have had them trained

- placing ammunition in the paper doll ammo slot does absolutely nothing. Even though the image "changes" to match that of the supposed ammo, it is in fact empty, and the actual ammo remains in your inventory/bank. Should have been put in the ammo slot and disappeared from any bags.

- even more surprisingly, despite the above, guns shoot...!
